What is 2-1-1
2-1-1 is Connecticut’s free information and referral service. Simply by dialing 2-1-1, a toll-free number throughout Connecticut, callers can reach knowledgeable, multilingual staff and get information, referrals or seek help in a crisis. 2-1-1 operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Stay in the Game – United Way of Connecticut is a partner in the effort to raise awareness about the importance of colorectal cancer screenings. Connecticut Public Television will air a live town meeting on March 24 focused on creating a better understanding of colorectal cancer. United Way 2-1-1 has a listing of the colorectal screening sites and program eligibility guidelines. For more information, dial 2-1-1 or click here.
EITC Tax Credit Campaign : Get the Credit You Deserve - It’s income tax season again and United Way 2-1-1 is your link to information on Tax Credits, Free Income Tax Assistance, and Tax Forms. To learn more or for a referral to a free tax preparation site dial 2-1-1 or click here.
United Way 2-1-1 Assists with a New Homelessness Prevention Initiative - The federal Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP) initiative is underway. HPRP provides federal stimulus funds to help those who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. United Way 2-1-1 is proud to assist with this program and has begun screening and connecting callers to HPRP. Click here for more info.
