REFUGEE ASSISTANCE –
CT STATE CASH AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Conn. Dept. of Social Services administers the Refugee Assistance cash and medical assistance program for needy individuals, families and children who are designated as refugees under U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service regulations and who are ineligible to receive benefits from any other public assistance program. Benefits, which are the same as TFA benefit levels, are paid for a maximum of eight months beginning with the month of entry into the United States, as long as the household’s income and liquid assets remain at or under the income/asset limits for TFA.
