What is 2-1-1

2-1-1 is Connecticut’s free information and referral service. Simply by dialing 2-1-1, a toll-free number throughout Connecticut, callers can reach knowledgeable, multilingual staff and get information, referrals or seek help in a crisis. 2-1-1 operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. National Problem Gambling Awareness Week March 7 -13 - Search the 2-1-1 online database for programs that provide emotional support, information and guidance in a variety of settings for people who are having difficulty controlling their compulsion to gamble, and for their families. Some programs may include a financial counseling and/or management component which helps individuals deal with issues related to their spending and accumulated debt.

EITC Tax Credit Campaign : Get the Credit You Deserve - It’s income tax season again and United Way 2-1-1 is your link to information on Tax Credits, Free Income Tax Assistance, and Tax Forms. To learn more or for a referral to a free tax preparation site dial 2-1-1 or click here.

United Way 2-1-1 Assists with a New Homelessness Prevention Initiative - The federal Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP) initiative is underway. HPRP provides federal stimulus funds to help those who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness.
